When visiting EPCOT in the Walt Disney World Resort, you may experience The Land. At the Garden Grill restaurant you can sample food from The Land, grown on Disney property.

Garden Grill in EPCOT Center is a revolving restaurant with a farm-to-table feel. The atmosphere embraces and celebrates American agriculture. We’ve dined at this character dining location a number of times over the years and have always had a great experience. During our November 2024 visit, our junior adventurer absolutely loved the experience and he’s insisting on our return because of it.

Character dining

The Garden Grill is one of two character dining experiences at EPCOT. Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in the Norway Pavillion is the other. Garden Grill delivers classic Disney characters while Akershus brings visitors the princesses.

“See some of your favorite Disney Characters while feasting on delicious fare—with a heaping helping of fun!” the page for Garden Grill states. “Hungry for a little mealtime magic? Meet Disney Characters Chip, Dale, Mickey Mouse and more as they make their way through the rotating dining room to greet guests, pause for a photo or even share a hug.”

Prix fixe advance dining reservation

The dining experience is prix fixe and all-you-can-enjoy. The food is served family style. Prices vary depending on what meal you opt to visit the restaurant.

At the time of publication, WDW listed the following prices — not including tax and gratuity:

  • Breakfast: $49.00 adults and $33.00 children ages 3 – 9.
  • Lunch: $62.00 adults and $42.00 children ages 3 – 9.
  • Dinner: $62.00 adults and $42.00 children ages 3 – 9.

Value

We’ve only done dinner at the Garden Grill. The lunch and dinner menus appear to be identical, so there’s going to be no real comparison there. The lunch and dinner menus are fairly extensive, offering a decent enough variety. Breakfast is somewhat limited as far as hot options go, and apparently the sausage they provide is “Impossible™ Breakfast Sausage,” and the waffles are plant-based.

For a character dining experience with classic characters, the price is not bad.

From a food perspective, the lunch and dinner offerings are certainly consistent with what you’re paying for.

Since we’ve never participated in breakfast at Garden Grill, we can’t comment on the value of the food. But looking at what you get, I’m interested.

Our experiences

© 2025 Forget Me Knot Media, LLC – Garden Grill

Our first visit to Garden Grill was in 2011. Not a whole lot changed since then, but to be perfectly frank, 2011 isn’t exactly in sharp focus anymore. Since then I know we’ve revisited several times. Once in 2013, again in 2017, and for certain 2024. I’ve probably missed one or two visits, but for all intents and purposes, it’s safe to say we’ve frequented.

The November 2024 trip we were served a garden salad, cornbread with honey butter, and our junior adventurer was provided with a crudités (carrot sticks, celery, and ranch dressing) for starters.

In the main skillet, the entrees were served together; grilled steak, roasted turkey with gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, and mashed potatoes. On the side, we were given a serving of macaroni and cheese.

Keeping with the farm-feel ambiance, drinks were served in mason jars and the skillets were all cast iron. Micky was dressed in a plaid shirt and bib overalls, and Pluto had a plaid neckerchief.

Quality of the food

The food overall was great.

The garden salad was a standard salad with plenty of veggies. The corn bread was a bit hit and the accompanying honey butter put it over the top.

The steak was not overcooked and the chimichurri was not overpowering. Everything was fresh; the mashed potatoes and veggies did come in just about par, but they were good. The macaroni and cheese was standard WDW mac and cheese — better than a box but not as good as a boutique.

The desserts are seasonal and rotate out. That night we had an apple pie with a scoop of ice cream. There’s never enough ice cream for me. I probably just need to be a big boy and go out of my way and say, “I want ice cream.” And put my disappointment to rest when there’s not enough with the dessert.

Our junior adventurer got a dirt-cup style dessert. It came in a miniature terracotta pot, which was a nice touch.

The characters

Getting with the characters at character dining experiences can be stressful. At least at Garden Grill, you don’t have to worry about getting up and missing them if you were at a buffet like Magic Kingdom’s Crystal Palace or Hollywood Studio’s Hollywood and Vine. None-the-less, trying to snap photos could be like a bigfoot expedition if you’re not swift with your phone or camera.

Naturally Chip and Dale were ever present, considering the menu offers up Chip n’ Dale’s Harvest Feast. Joining our favorite Rescue Rangers were Mickey and Pluto from the Fabulous Five.

Overall experience

It’s hard to dislike Garden Grill. The biggest drawback is hearing the farmer’s dog bark when you’ve rotated over by the homestead. In all seriousness, the challenge with Garden Grill is it is located in EPCOT — the park with all of the best food options in WDW. If you’re looking for character dining while in the experimental prototype community, Garden Grill is worth trying out.
